Dear Helene,
Today marks another year in your life and I wish you nothing but the best. I have thought of so many things to write to you and I have too much to say..
Instead, I’m reminiscing on how far we have come and the hurdles and how many times we have lamented over life.
I’m also thinking of the times we have celebrated when life when we feel it has chosen to be fair to us and I know you’re gonna make it.
This is how I know you’re going to make it.
We have gone through times when it felt like life was playing ping pong with us and we have cried and laughed over it. You are an amazing person and I have watched you baffle even medicine. Your mind stood even when everything was falling apart. Honestly, I don’t know how you do it but! I watch you composed in situations where I am going over the roof and I wonder how you could be so cool about it.
I know you’ll make it not because you’re strong but because we’re strong as a team and you are one person who has taught me that no man is an island. You have tapped into the secret of community and that has been your strength ever since so I’m convinced. I’m convinced it’s gonna get better from here on because it just has to. See, we are fighters you and I and that’s what we do, fight!
I know you’re gonna make it because you are love personified. Love lives and love does not die and every fiber of your being is made of love. Even when you do not know, you have an aura around you that just enfolds everyone. I remember our discussion on the fragrance of purpose.. You remember what happened before that, don’t you? They come because they feel it, the smell it but they can’t explain it.
Dear Helene,
This is a big day for you and I want you to see it as a big day. You are regaining everything you’ve lost..look at your fingernails! You could just be a model with that. Yes, you are getting it back and this time and I am certain nothing can take that from you. Life has pruned you down to this curvy figure, beautiful and with more wisdom. A more accommodating heart and a joy to be around.
This is a big day and I want you to celebrate yourself because you are worth celebrating. Everything around you sings that you are what creation has been waiting for. The world is a better place because you are here and I would like you to always remember that. My life is more exciting and amazing because you are in it.
I want you to remember, you are loved and I believe in you so much and I know you’re going make it.
I can’t wait for us to laugh at our tough times and tell the stories to our kids. One day, all of this would be a once upon a time. I can’t wait to write our stories and watch how things turned out.
